Sharing Our House With Friends-the dock

The dock is a fine place to be almost any time of day. Francoise has captured it's elegance by the dawns early light.

Romance and reality.

Relaxing and reading.

Dock discussion.

A fine place to gather at the end of the day.

Sharing Our House With Friends-fishing

Not everyone gets expert fly fishing instruction, but the Wilson's visit coincided with that of our winter neighbors, the Bartoos.

Dollar Tree Shopping

One of my favorite stores is the Dollar Tree www.dollartree.com. Not only does it have items that we use often for half or better price than other stores, including Walmart, it has fond memories. The Dollar Tree is chock a block full of toys and games that make a kid's eyes pop and make a parent look generous. Nerf baseball and bubble blowing equipment were definitely high on the list of favorites in my parenting days.

There is a Dollar Tree in Dunnellon, but it pales in comparison to the one near State Road 200 and County Road 484. This store has the advantage of being near Walmart-the one with the cheapest gas, and Five Guys Burgers. Even President Obama loves Five Guys-real beef and fresh potatoes. www.fiveguys.com

Two out of three of our European guests were pretty excited about their purchases from Walmart. The adult Wrangler jeans for $17 are a steal even with the Euro down against the dollar. Pack light and shop cheap. If you over fill your suitcase you can always buy another at Walmart.

The family that didn't go ga ga for Walmart did have a fine shopping time at the sports store. Closer to Ocala on State Road 200 is higher end shopping, and further into Ocala on State Road 200 is the Paddock Mall. Even further into Ocala on SR 200 are TJ Maxx and Ross Dress for Less.

Have fun!
